As a key member of the newly formed R360 organization, the Commercial Development Manager is accountable for commercial analysis and negotiation and evaluation of transportation commitments, working closely with internal stakeholders as well as customers, pipelines and other industry contacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for optimization of assets through industry networking and strategic evaluation
  • Negotiate and develop commercial proposals and work with Legal to develop formal agreements
  • Manage transportation and connection contracts with midstream service providers, ensuring alignment of contracts with business needs
  • Collaborate with Operations, Technical Services, Finance to identify and steward projects through internal development processes, as well as supporting M&A evaluation
  • Guide economic evaluations and develop business cases and presentations for delivery to senior leadership
  • Mentor and develop analysts and other junior staff
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with producers, midstream and downstream participants in the Canadian energy industry as well as internal stakeholders
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of energy and waste markets and pricing

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years previous work experience in waste, energy or midstream business development
  • A university degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering
  • Comprehensive understanding of Canadian energy production and markets, infrastructure and pricing
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with various internal and external stakeholders and present information clearly and concisely
  • Must be self motivated and a strong team player
  • Highly effective analytical, organization skills and attention to detail
