Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences including our Corporate Speaker Series, Fireside Chats, Volunteer opportunities and Networking events.
Eligibility Note: To qualify for a student (Co-op/Internship) opportunity, students must be enrolled in their academic studies at a post-secondary institution (university/college) and must be returning to school after completion of their work term with QuadReal. If you are a student registered in an official co-op program at your post-secondary institution and completion of a final work term is a mandatory component for you to graduate, you are eligible to apply with the understanding that you will leave QuadReal at the end of your work term or have the possibility to be considered for full-time opportunities.
Based in Vancouver, the Co-op/ Intern, Investments, will report to the Director, Investments, and support QuadReal’s Development & Investment team. The intern will assist the team in evaluating and reporting the performance of the investment portfolio, conducting acquisition and disposition underwriting, managing transactions and joint venture relationships, executing strategies for the development pipeline and producing investment memorandums, letters of recommendation, research reports, brochures and studies to drive decision making.

- Work with the investment teams to prepare return calculations and analysis for potential transactions, including the creation of cashflow models to anticipate future performance and the presentation of financial modelling outputs and conclusions
- Perform market research for investment opportunities, evaluate past investment financial performance, gather data on competitor – or other comparable – product, and help interpret the economic backdrop behind investments
- Track market data pertaining to real estate investments within the BC region, aiming to create a comprehensive database for use by the investment teams
- Assist in the creation of approval memorandums for the purposes of new acquisitions, development & construction of existing development assets within the development pipeline, and disposition of non-strategic assets both within the income producing and development portfolio
- Assist in periodic development updates, providing support to the development and portfolio management teams in creating new cashflow forecasts and budgetary inputs
- Analyze and review quarterly reports, financial statements and investment documents
- Partner with colleagues to prepare internal reporting using your strong writing and presentation acumen to summarize portfolio performance and deliver insight for key stakeholders, including QuadReal’s Board of Directors and senior management teams
- Currently enrolled in an academic program preferably in Real Estate, Finance, Mathematics/Statistic or Economics. Working towards CFA is considered an asset
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word; knowledge of Argus Enterprise a plus
- Previous experience working within a real estate company (asset management or development), real estate brokerage or advisory firm, appraisal firm, or real estate lender is desirable. A strong interest in developing a career within real estate is essential
