Job Summary

As a Windows System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our Windows-based environments, and managing client-server applications. You should have excellent troubleshooting skills and possess a strong understanding of various aspects of Windows environments. You can effectively communicate across teams and manage various IT related tasks. You will be instrumental in the deployment and management of our Windows infrastructure, managing detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and tasks. You will also be assigned to certain projects or other initiatives as time permits.


Education, Qualifications and Experience

Formal Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for Computer Science, Engineering or other technical degree.


Primary areas of responsibility will include:

  • Ensures that all requests for support are dealt with according to set standards and procedures.
  • Investigates and enables the resolution of operational issues. Provides reports and proposals for improvement, to specialists, users and managers.
  • Develops procedures and standards for installation and handover to maintain and improve the installation service.
  • Acts as the routine contact point between the organisation and suppliers.
  • Manage and administer Windows servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Oversee the management of Windows domain environments, including Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS)
  • Manage Azure AD administration including maintaining hybrid and cloud only identities across AD tenants.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Windows server and application issues, including system crashes, slow performance, and network connectivity problems.


Experience:

  • 7+ years experience as a Windows System Administrator or similar role
  • Extensive experience in MS intune including deployment, configuration and ongoing support for intune endpoint management
  • Familiarity with 2FA solutions like Okta, Duo and auth0
  • Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN
  • Advanced ability to configure and install workstation/server/network components and systems
  • Experience with Active Directory, group policies, server virtualization, and backup/recovery systems
  • Proficiency in Dell and VMware technologies
  • Ability to create scripts in Python/Bash Scripting and similar languages
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019

  • You will establish a clear understanding of the company's vision, goals and strategy and actively contribute to the achievement of the goals and execution of the strategy.
  • You will be a leader in the organization, responsible for both setting the standards for project management and holding the organization accountable to the standards set.
  • Results-oriented with a history of consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and spoken technical English.
  • Ability to work with distributed teams


The anticipated base salary for this position is $41.20 to $53.17/hr Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
