An exciting opportunity exists as a Regular Full-Time Project Coordinator supporting the Ganawishkadawe Centre for Wise Practices in Indigenous Health (CWP-IH) and the Office of Equity. The successful candidate will work with individuals across the organization to advance health equity and Indigenous health equity. This role will work to position WCH to achieve the deliverables outline in the Moving the Needle on Health Equity action plan, with the utilization of project planning, coordination, analysis and implementation.

Job Description

Summary of Duties, but not limited to:

  • Monitors, tracks, and evaluates the progress and adherence to project milestones, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinates and creates communication and promotional activities and materials as required.
  • Encourages participants in projects to observe established standards, processes, project timelines and recommends on best course of action to follow.
  • Assists in the coordination of reporting and dashboards to demonstrate and evaluate the impact of initiatives.
  • Evaluates projects to identify areas for efficiency and provides coordination on resource allocation, cost implications, and project adjustments, etc.
  • Implements projects to meet timelines, objectives, and goals.
  • Creates, processes, and edits project documentation such as reports, letters, contracts, forms, meeting notes, presentations, handouts, etc.
  • Conducts research and reviews current practices to develop reports or proposals of findings and provides relevant recommendations.
  • Triages or re-directs requests to the appropriate department/staff when more senior advice is required.
  • Coordinates, moderates, and develops agendas for standing monthly calls.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots challenges and barriers.
  • Ensures timelines for project implementation are followed.
  • Develops standard project templates and documents.
  • Creates progress presentations for sub-committees as requested
  • Creates a database to record, archive, and retrieve documents and files.
  • Supporting other initiatives within the CWP-IH and the Office of Equity as required

As a role model and champion you will work to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Indigenous Studies, Equity Studies, Social Justice, Public Health, or Health Administration.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible and related experience.
  • A lived experience and understanding of the cultural beliefs and practices of at least one of the traditional territorial holders of the Toronto area.
  • Has knowledge of and is familiar with Indigenous data sovereignty principles and frameworks, including how they are operationalized.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, anti-racism, accessibility, and human rights.
  • Knowledge of health equity principles and strategies, population health, and the Social Determinants of Health
  • Has knowledge of and experience in advancing principles, practices, and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all.
  • Ability to execute strategic plans that align with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Experience working in a hospital and/or healthcare sector is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat Professional and virtual collaboration/platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).
  • Proven attendance and punctuality.
  • Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital.
  • This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all.
