The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking an individual to join the Educational Facilities and Pupil Transportation Branch as a Senior Project Manager in Fredericton.
What you will do:
As a member of the Educational Facilities and Pupil Transportation Branch and reporting to the Infrastructure Program Manager, the successful candidate will be a member of the team responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of strategies for the effective management of the province's school infrastructure which includes 295 schools. You will be responsible for recommending capital projects and the related consultations with Anglophone and Francophone School Districts, District Education Councils, and community groups. You will be responsible for the planning of educational facilities, the review of architectural plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with environmental and public safety laws and regulations, managing approved budgetary allotments, and following up with School Districts and the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure on other identified issues. You will also be responsible for providing leadership to issues related to the operations of school physical plants.

Need to have:
- University degree in either engineering, architecture or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related progressive experience in facility planning, building administration or management ofphysical plant.
- An equivalency of a post secondary diploma in either engineering, architecture or a related field, supplemented by a minimum of six (6) years of related progressive experience in facility planning, building administration or management of physical plant would be accepted. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application. Level 3 (advanced) is required for the position which is able to speak the language with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations in both professional and social contexts.

Wage:
Pay Band 5: $63,700 - $88,972 annually.
Work Environment:
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton.
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

- This position has no management/supervisor responsibilities.
