What you’ll do:
The successful candidate will be responsible for all the following (and other duties as required);
- Lead the Agronomy & Sales team for Camrose & Tofield locations
- Responsible to provide complex support, services, and knowledge of agronomic products to local co-op customers
- Using a full understanding of information on agronomy, provides complex agronomic information and advice on seed, pest identification and crop protection, and crop nutrient/fertilizer so local co-op customers can make informed decisions based on reported findings
- Manage short-term, and potentially mid-term, complex farm customer service responsibilities, including field scouting, agronomic troubleshooting, crop planning, fertility and crop protection recommendations
- Actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of current industry best practices and trends and communicates relevant information to others. Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety protocols
- Takes responsibility for coaching and providing feedback and assisting in the development of agro sales team
- Communicate clearly and frequently with the manager to ensure inventory is in place to match demand and assist with the operations of the Ag location as required. Participates and may lead projects within their area of expertise. May provide input into action planning within their functional area
- Manages strong relationships with internal and external customers, contractors and suppliers on complex queries, issues and transactions. Understand and anticipates short-term, and potentially mid-term, complex customer needs and conduct related needs assessments
- Support the Agro Manager in preparing, administering, and achieving operating budgets and goals as it relates to the pricing, sales, margins, expenses, and inventory of the commodity for existing customers and expand sales to new customers
- Offers complex and/or specialized operational and/or sales support services
- Lead field tours, informational meetings, trials, communications plans, etc.
- Lead the development of AgZone (Digital Application) program within the association
- Maintain and grow customer base
- Call-on and develop new potential customers
- Achieve and maintain sales, margins, and inventory targets for existing customers and expand sales to new customers

Who you are:
You are looking for a Leadership career in Agronomy and Sales and:
- You have a Degree or Diploma in Agriculture Business
- P.Ag and or CCA designation are required
- 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience
- 6-9 years Prior sales experience or other direct sales experience
- 3 + years farming/agriculture related experience
- An ability to thrive in a high-energy and fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn, work independently, and take initiative
- Knowledge and experience in petroleum, crop input and equipment sales
- Ability to maintain and grow an extensive customer contact program with current and prospective customers
- Must possess and maintain class 5 driver’s license (class 1 or 3 an asset) and have the availability to be on call with ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed especially during busy spring and fall seasons
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
This role will require the use of various computer programs and phone applications, as well as the heavy lifting of products.
