About The Role
The Data Architect, as a seasoned professional with extensive experience, is responsible for designing and managing data architecture at Kinaxis, which includes defining how data is stored, accessed, processed, and managed.
You will be a leader in designing and implementing data solutions to drive and support our global business by enabling intelligent decision making. As a technical expert, they will collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside of Corporate IT to understand business requirements, design data solutions that support organizational goals, and to develop a world class data environment.

About The Role
The Data Architect, as a seasoned professional with extensive experience, is responsible for designing and managing data architecture at Kinaxis, which includes defining how data is stored, accessed, processed, and managed.
You will be a leader in designing and implementing data solutions to drive and support our global business by enabling intelligent decision making. As a technical expert, they will collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside of Corporate IT to understand business requirements, design data solutions that support organizational goals, and to develop a world class data environment.
What you will do
- Define the technical data architecture with cross-functional teams that enable consistency and scalability.
- Participate in Architecture Review Boards, interface with other Cloud Architects and act as the technical liaison for the department.
- Design, develop and deploy data warehouse solutions for the business, driving initiatives focused on data preparations, data integration, data exploration, ETL /ELT development, and advanced data modeling techniques.
- Design, build, own and run data engineering pipelines, workflows and standardized practices for delivering new products and capabilities using Data and Cloud technologies, including data transformation, processing and analysis.
- Participate in all aspects of the data solution delivery lifecycle, from ingestion to presentation.
- Facilitate discovery workshops, articulate the value proposition, build solution architecture with associated roadmaps, and communicate business value to stakeholders.
- Establish best practices and consistency across various Data on Cloud solutions
- Design and build highly reusable and scalable cloud-native data ecosystems
- Assist in the development of comprehensive and strategic business cases used at management and executive levels for funding and scoping decisions on data solutions
- Understand data technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business needs.
- Partner closely with leadership and business stakeholders as a trusted and influential evangelist to identify important questions, define key metrics, cultivating a data driven decision making culture.
- Take ownership of complex or time critical support issues.
- Design and implement data security measures to protect sensitive information.
- Document data architecture, data flows, and system architecture for reference and future development.
- Work collaboratively with Data and other Cloud Governance specialists to align on rules, processes and standards.
- Designing the lifecycle management process to seamlessly handle Python package and API dependency version changes
- BS or BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture in a high-tech, global environment, preferably in a SaaS organization.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in developing data pipelines and workflows with GCP services and applications (Pub/Sub, Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc BQ, Airflow, Composer, BigQuery
- Minimum 5 years' experience with CI/CD deployments and code management platforms like GitHub
- Deep understanding of data and information architecture, including experience with Big Data, Cloud Native Analytics, streaming and batch data processing.
- Deep understanding of Data Modeling and Data Warehouse development.
- Strong Understanding of Data Governance and Data Quality.
- Experience deploying and operating cloud infrastructure with remote users.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in clear concise language.
- Highly adaptable and able to pivot based on prioritization and needs of the business; proactively solicits feedback to ensure alignment.
- Agile and resilient in managing multiple projects with multiple sources of information.
- Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in a clear, concise, and professional language.
