Inside Sales Representative – Full Time

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this position is responsible for the profitability of our local retail store and is expected to deliver excellent customer sales and service. We are looking for an energetic, hands-on individual.

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the efficient processing of customer orders, answer and respond to walk-in and telephone sales orders and product inquiries
  • Sell gases and welding products to walk-in and telephone customers
  • Emphasis on “Up selling” gases and other welding products to walk-in customers or over the phone
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the branch by organizing displays, stocking shelves, lift heavy objects, etc.
  • Process all cash, charge, and credit card orders and select for invoicing
  • Process bank daily deposits and cash reconciliation
  • Maintain local inventory control and manage branch stock including surplus inventory
  • Accountable for shipping/receiving of customer orders and branch transfers
  • Balance daily cylinder transactions
  • Use knowledge of welding applications and products to ensure Praxair products meet customer requirements
  • May be required to provide assistance to the Territory Manager(s) in serving accounts

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent experience in an industrial, HVAC supplies, etc. environment.

Professional Experience

  • A work history focusing on customer satisfaction is a pre-requisite
  • Must have the ability to "up sell"
  • Knowledge and/or experience with welding products and processes a desired asset
  • Proficient in a computer environment

Other Considerations

  • Mathematical ability required to calculate prices and gross margins
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision
  • A safety conscious team player who works well with others
