RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Under the direction of Dr Momar Ndao, the incumbent will perform required molecular biology diagnostic testing and develop new one within the NRCP (National Reference Centre for Parasitology) team.

General Duties

The incumbent will complete the molecular biology test according the established protocol.

Specific Responsibilities

• Perform molecular biology test requested by the client ,
• Record results on database
• Develop new tests
• Perform parasite culture from Biopsy
• Participate in common lab task
• Maintains inventory. Purchases necessary materials,
• Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the work area,
• Keeps abreast of new developments in the field to update skills and knowledge,
• Ensures compliance with ISO protocol guidelines
• Accomplishes any other tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Molecular biology

Work Experience

6 month to 1 year

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time

Pay Scale: $40,531.40 - $60,824.40 Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
