About the Role
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Corporate Operational Resources, the Manager of Risk contributes to the overall success of the Workers' Compensation Board and plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective risk management practices throughout the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program and all internal and external audit result coordination. The objective is to support the CEO and CFO/CRO to foster a risk-aware culture, leverage opportunities, effectively mitigate risks, and ensure operational efficiency in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives. Establishes and implements performance standards and measures and being accountable for meeting service and performance goals for the department.
Your Experience & Skills
- A university degree in business, accounting, finance or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience involving activities such as risk management frameworks, process, and controls over financial reporting, disclosure, governance, I.T. security and change management, and performing audits in a decision-making capacity-related environment; three (3) years of which also involves experience in leading teams, projects and building a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- A Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (Note: professionals due to receive their CPA designation in December 2024 may apply, however proof of designation will be required prior to commencing, as a condition of employment).
- Knowledge of, and experience with, process improvement frameworks and data analysis would be an asset.
- Any other relevant professional designation (e.g. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) would be an asset.
We offer a competitive compensation package ranging from $90,359 - $112,951.
