Job Summary
The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and administering employee benefits programs in North America (U.S. and Canada) to ensure they meet the needs of employees while aligning with the organization's goals. This role involves evaluating benefits offerings by working closely with the benefits broker, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulations

Job Summary
The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and administering employee benefits programs in North America (U.S. and Canada) to ensure they meet the needs of employees while aligning with the organization's goals. This role involves evaluating benefits offerings by working closely with the benefits broker, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis:
- Work closely with the benefits broker to analyze employee benefits usage and trends to provide insights and recommendations for program improvement.
- Perform regular audits of carrier enrollment data.
- Partner with HRTS team to configure and test benefit software system.
- Program Administration:
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement and pension plans, and wellness.
- Assisting with the design and implementation of new benefits programs, including acquisition integration.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation.
- Lead the annual benefit open enrollment planning and execution.
- Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with broker, benefit providers and vendors to negotiate contracts, manage performance, and resolve issues.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other applicable laws in Canada and U.S.
- Employee Communication:
- Develop communication materials to educate employees about their benefits options and facilitate enrollment processes.
- Reporting:
- Prepare reports and presentations for management on benefits trends, costs, and program effectiveness.
- Reconcile and submit monthly invoices including back-up data to Finance.
- Prepare and monitor benefits budget with Finance teams.
- Benchmarking:
- Conduct market research to benchmark benefits offerings against industry standards and make recommendations for enhancements.
- Policy Development:
- Assist in the development and implementation of benefits policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in benefits administration or human resources.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits regulations and best practices in Canada and United States.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, Excel, and benefits administration software.
- Ability to travel up to 10% to Canada and United States locations.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or similar are a plus.
