About the Role:
We are currently seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Chiller Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on designing custom chiller and pump packages, creating detailed Bill of Materials (BOM), and working with cross-functional teams to address and resolve production challenges. Additionally, the successful candidate will engage in and contribute to the research and development projects to enhance product performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop chiller and pump packages for various industrial and commercial applications
- Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) for chiller designs, ensuring accuracy and timely release to the production/manufacturing team.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or other relevant software.
- Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve design or production issues, optimizing material usage and assembly processes in a custom made to order manufacturing environment.
- Contribute to R&D efforts, including heat transfer and fluid dynamics calculations, exploring new components and technologies, cost optimization, and designing prototypes for new products.
- Perform lab testing on prototypes, ensuring functionality and performance, and provide recommendations for design improvements.
- Ensure that designs meet regulatory standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including close coordination with both onsite and remote engineering teams to ensure alignment on design specifications and project goals.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned to support the engineering and production teams.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or chiller system design.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of 2-D and 3-D CAD software
- Strong working knowledge of refrigeration systems/ components and how to apply them
- In-depth understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products and proficiency in computer software and programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Location: 159 Roy Blvd, Brantford, N3R 7K1 (On-site, 5 days a week)
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
