BOWMAN is the tactical communications system integrating digital voice and data technology to provide secure radio, telephone, intercom and tactical internet services in a modular and fully integrated system. This program converted over 18000 platforms, just over 10 years ago. General Dynamics Missions Systems – Canada (GDMS-C) is looking for a Co-op/Internship Electrical Engineer student to join the BOWMAN product development team in Calgary, to support ongoing future capability development.
The successful candidate will be in a Co-op/Internship electrical engineer role and participate in a team based environment to carry out various electrical engineering activities; applying engineering knowledge and techniques to carry out all stages of electrical design definition, requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration and verification.
The responsibilities and range of activities may vary, but in general will include:
- Participates in design reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to support program requirements.
- Identifies, investigates, and responds to defects. Resolves and verifies issues and problem reports.
- Developing test cases that validate system and software level requirements;
- Executing test cases in a lab environment;
- Generating Problem Reports;
- Participation in Integrated Product Teams;
- Maintaining and improving lab scripts.
- Document your analyses, designs and tests (e.g., schematics, wiring diagrams, tech notes, design documents, test plans and test reports) in the format prescribed by standard templates.
- Investigate system problem reports and field incident reports; perform root cause and trend analyses.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program
Security Clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
