Position Profile
We are currently recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Calgary, AB.
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for the direct management and handling of all inventory and all warehousing and distribution functions. He or she will be accountable for inbound and outbound freight, as well as ensuring staff adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures. The Warehouse Supervisor will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skills. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

Position Profile
We are currently recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Calgary, AB.
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for the direct management and handling of all inventory and all warehousing and distribution functions. The Warehouse Supervisor will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skills. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of warehousing including handling stock reconciliations, handling incoming goods, issuing goods, receiving returned goods, stocktaking and managing quality and inspection stock
- Ensure and maintain accurate Finished Goods inventory through cycle count.
- Ensure all Customer / Distribution orders are shipped in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding inventory, regulated products and/or hazardous materials
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination.
- Implement and manage warehousing strategies, policies and procedures to ensure that movement and storage of goods is managed effectively throughout the operating company
- Ensure warehousing KPIs are met in order to support the effective running of the operating company and prepare and publish warehousing reports to demonstrate performance
- Attend and run daily service meetings with all stakeholders, and team huddles
- Roster management and schedule adherence
- Drive improvement and results in operational efficiency and inventory improvement strategies
- Take responsibility for receiving, storing and dispatching goods, tracking shipments, coordinating import and export activities & liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers as necessary
- Ensure warehouse strategies that assure reliability are properly defined and enforced
- Implement warehouse management policy and best practice procedures, including 5s
- Constantly improve warehouse performance (ensure warehouse KPIs are defined and measured)
- Ensure OH&S requirements are met in the warehouse
- Work closely with other functions (Procurement/Quality and other distribution centers) to effectively support the operation
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of stock to the operation
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or have extensive experience in supply chain is preferred
- Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management.
- Direct knowledge of WHMIS and other safety systems.
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD preferred or equivalent industry experience.
- Lean Six Sigma training, continuous improvement experience preferred.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in warehouse management and or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of ERP / MRP systems, as well as Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. IFS will be preferred
- Leadership ability to drive direct reports
- Excellent written and oral operational communication skills; ability to communicate effectively/convincingly at all levels (including technical and operational) and with all functions at least in English
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and build relationships across multiple functions
- Costs / results driven
- Strong strategic skills and problem solving/analytical skills
- Effective time management, planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and drive tasks to completion in a fixed timeframe and in a pressured environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills; be able to communicate effectively at all levels, and with all functions in English
- Convincing communicator / personality with high sensitivity to customers and suppliers who can balance empathy and assertiveness
- Familiarity with the use of ERP and WMS (IFS preferred)
- Ability to continuously improve efficiency of processes and manage change
- Strong customer orientation
- Be able to convey a sense of urgency and anticipate and resolve Distribution and logistical issues
- Ability to identify problems quickly, make sound judgments, establish and implement solutions
- Ability to deal with ambiguities, conflicts and adversarial relationships
