The Financial Planner is a member of our Total Wealth Solutions team that is dedicated to supporting our advisory teams and their clients. This entry level role is ideal for someone looking to develop and expand their financial planning skills while working with and supporting senior team members.

Financial Planner

What will your role be responsible for?
- Prepare financial projections for Raymond James clients.
- Collaborate with Raymond James’s Total Wealth Solutions complimentary departments (Tax Consulting, Tax Preparation, Insurance Solutions, Corporate Trustee, and Philanthropy), where appropriate.
- Presenting and updating client projections, and supporting team members in the discovery, preparation and delivery of projections and plans to clients.
- Supporting team members on a variety of client deliverables.

Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Canadian financial planning and its key concepts.
- Working knowledge of Canadian investment solution structures and accounts.
- Client service skills including experience in face-to-face, videoconferencing, and telephone scenarios. Potential scenarios include:
- Identifying client opportunities and providing potential solutions to client challenges throughout the planning process that align with goals-based planning.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Demonstrating sound judgement and self-awareness as to when to reach out to more senior team members for support.
- Time management, organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills, including the ability to:
- Juggle multiple, competing deadlines while maintaining an attention to detail.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Exercise tact and discretion in the handling of client private, confidential information and collaborating with their other professional advisors (tax and legal).
- College diploma or University degree with a focus on business and/or finance.
- Two years of practical, client facing financial planning experience. Planning involving Canadian corporations or trusts, and/or cross-border planning is an asset.
- Worked with Conquest Planning or Naviplan software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a willingness to learn new applications.
- Exposure to planning for Canadian operating, professional and holding corporations, and private trusts, is an asset.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or near completion.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Grow professionally.
- Deliver a great client experience.
- Contribute to the growth of the branch, the Advisors and our clients.
