Binnie is looking for a Civil Technologist to join our Northern Division full-time in our Prince George office. Prince George is known as the “Northern Capital” of BC and is the largest city in the north with a growing economy and population in need of strong engineering infrastructure work.

Our Northern Division specializes in highway design, project management and engineering infrastructure solutions throughout Northern BC.

You will be working with our friendly and supportive team of experienced Project Managers, Designers, CAD specialists, and Engineers on a wide range of highway design projects.

You will carry out CAD assignments, design work, and quality management according to Binnie’s Organizational Quality Management Policy (OQM). This role offers great mentorship opportunities.

Your Role

  • Preparing Civil3D designs and production drawings including set-up, alignments, profiles, sections, corridors and pipe networks.
  • Performing and documenting quality control checks on Civil 3D work in accordance with Binnie’s Quality Management Program
  • Adhering to BC MOTI CAD standards as well as Binnie’s internal CAD standards
  • Completing design calculations
  • Performing quantity take-offs and cost estimating
  • Preparing documentation for design folders and reports

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 4 years of related work experience in a civil consulting engineering environment
  • Completed Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or other applicable software
  • Ability to learn on the job and apply new knowledge effectively
  • Registered as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) with ASTTBC or as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with ASET
  • Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle preferred
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail to consistently produce accurate, high-quality work
