Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Learning Technology the eLearning Developer will have the opportunity to create interactive eLearning solutions to support the growth of PSHSA’s instructional technology presence.

Major Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain eLearning/multimedia projects varying in size and complexity.
  • Consult with the Director, Learning Technology, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to understand learning objectives, requirements, and instructional design.
  • Extend the use of eLearning authoring tools to enable advanced Level 3 eLearning interactions.
  • Employ strategies to collect learner data through the use of analytics using JavaScript.
  • Build technical and graphical prototypes to meet client needs.
  • Build eLearning solutions to meet up to WCAG Level AA accessibility standard.
  • Fully competent in video/media integration in e-Learning strategies/deliverables
  • QA and troubleshoot published courses in LMS and html environments. Make recommendations on media elements and provide development timelines as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of current learning trends and eLearning development practices.
  • Review and verify results in the staging and production environments in a Learning Management System and/or other environments.
  • Adapt/Troubleshoot eLearning courses for optimal performance for a variety of environments.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the team and organization.

Job Requirements

  • A college degree or diploma in a related field or formal eLearning certification/accreditation or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5 years’ experience designing, developing, and implementing interactive e-Learning programs and courseware.
  • Expert level experience using Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and how to implement these in eLearning programs.
  • Understanding of JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Proven experience incorporating graphics, animations, digital audio, video, other multimedia elements & interactivity to support teaching and learning.

Details of the Role

Status: Contract

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week

Location: Remote in Ontario, Canada

Bargaining Unit Position: No

Travel Required: No

Salary: $40/hour
