Job Description
Position profile - The Emergency Department of Saskatoon is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians to provide locum coverage. The successful candidate(s) will provide adult and pediatric services in three tertiary care facilities serving Saskatoon and Northern Saskatchewan. There will also be an opportunity and responsibility to teach residents and medical students training at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine. The individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.
The Department - Saskatoon Emergency Departments include: St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon City Hospital and Royal University Hospital. Annual patient visits per year are 40,000 at St. Paul's, 25,000 at Saskatoon City Hospital (open 12 hours a day) and 47,000 at Royal University Hospital. Royal University Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center. Physicians hired to the Saskatoon department most commonly work at all three sites.

Job Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements of the position -The successful candidate will hold the designation of FRCPC-EM, CCFP-EM or ABEM and will be eligible for licensure in the province of Saskatchewan with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).

A users group is available for collaborative research with clinical faculty using the $173.5 million Canadian Light Source synchrotron, owned by the University of Saskatchewan. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training.
