Your Opportunity
Our Manitoba Water Resources Team has an opportunity for an Engineer-in-Training or Junior Hydrotechnical Engineer who will support our Western Canadian teams on hydrologic analysis, dams and water control structures, river engineering and restoration design, flood modeling and mapping, and related activities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Support hydrotechnical design projects and provide contributions to multi-disciplinary projects.
- Develop hydrological and hydraulic modeling and civil designs.
- Document analysis in MS Excel and Word files.
- Contribute to writing reports and design briefs.
- Coordinate design drawings and specifications.
- Produce high-quality written, technical, and graphic work, completing tasks on time and on budget.
- Contribute to proposal writing and business development efforts.
- Participate in field investigations, topographic and bathymetric surveys, and hydraulic structure inspections.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary professionals to deliver infrastructure and restoration projects in Western Canada.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Registered Engineer-in-Training or ability to obtain within six months.
- Understanding of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and result interpretation.
- Application of civil and hydrotechnical engineering methods to infrastructure design, flood mitigations, and restorations.
- Experience supporting multi-disciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Water Resources, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Previous co-op/internship experience in applied water resources/hydrotechnical engineering.
This job involves working in an office and hybrid-office environment with computers and desk work for long periods, along with fieldwork that may include travel and exposure to the elements.
