Experiential Education Assistant

Purpose:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Experiential Education, the Experiential Education Assistant role provides a high level of administrative and customer support to facilitate Experiential Education (EE) opportunities (school focused) in the Faculty of Education. The role is key in supporting the Experiential Education database system.
Education:
College diploma in a related field, such as general business, education, communications, community development, or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
Two (2) years recent, related experience supporting experiential learning programs, working with schools and/or School Boards or similar educational institutions, experience with maintaining effective relationships with a variety of internal and external partners, using a Student Information System (SIS) and/or a similar database/customer relationship system including record maintenance and reports, experience with financial administration (e.g., payments, records).
Skills:
Effective computer skills including MS Office 365.
Knowledge of Experiential Education and both its benefits and requirements for all participants (program partners, students).
Accurate data entry and record-keeping essential, including retrieval and report generation using online systems.
Ability to understand and learn new technologies and apply them to the business environment.
Efficient organizational skills, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
Efficient communication skills, positive relationship building/maintaining skills.
Able to maintain confidentiality including familiarity with FIPPA legislation.
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of partners professionally with effective customer-service.
Initiative, good judgement, ability to pro-actively respond to situations.
Deals courteously and effectively with others.
Exercises tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
