Who we’re looking for:

Join our dynamic Rogers Business Digital Delivery team as a Tech lead! We're on the lookout for a passionate and experienced leader who can inspire our talented crew. If you have a robust technical background in Microservice Architecture, API Builds, Spring Boot, and Java, plus expertise in Angular 12, User-Centred Design, and Agile practices, we want to hear from you!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the overall software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into features.
  • Analyze, develop, test, implement, and document solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of robust, testable code that meets requirements.
  • Develop non-functional features to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews to help improve the quality of code written by team members.
  • Monitor and control all phases of the development process, providing user and operational support for applications.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of application development to analyze complex problems, evaluate business and system processes, and adhere to industry standards.
  • Ensure adherence to essential procedures and help define operating standards and processes.
  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision, exercising independent judgment and autonomy.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and other team members.

What you bring:

  • Over 8 years of relevant experience in Java application development on both Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Expertise in systems analysis and software application programming, with a focus on performance and testability of components.
  • Extensive experience with Azure Cloud including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for container orchestration and Azure Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of Apache Kafka and other messaging queues.
  • Proficient in Java development with hands-on expertise in Spring Boot for building microservices, Hibernate and Spring JPA for ORM and database interactions.
  • Experience with Struts Framework for developing and maintaining web applications.
  • Good to have knowledge with UI development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, jQuery, or modern frameworks like Angular is a plus.
  • Familiarity with application servers such as Oracle WebLogic and Apache Tomcat.
  • Experience with diverse database technologies like Relational Databases - Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL Databases - Cosmos DB.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices with expertise in CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Dynatrace.
  • Strong understanding of J2EE principles and patterns for enterprise application development.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot integration challenges in complex architectures.
  • Eager to learn and analyze how core applications integrate with peer, upstream, and downstream systems.
  • Experience with APIs, security protocols and Payment Card Industry.
  • Familiarity with financial data structures, payment and credit evaluation products is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in managing and successfully implementing projects.
  • Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methods.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week. You can choose which days in office work best for you!
