Working for the Faculty
Translating Research in Elder Care (TREC) is a research program in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta, functioning in an integrated knowledge translation or partnered model with long-standing relationships with stakeholders, end users, policymakers, and a citizen advisory group.
We are seeking a mature and experienced project coordinator to manage two projects: a survey project and a multi-component intervention.
Position
This position coordinates two projects. The first aims to support a more resilient workforce of care home managers, involving a pre-post intervention working with 100 managers across Alberta. The second is a survey of care aides across Alberta, examining the impact of trauma on their mental and physical health.
The Project Coordinator will manage day-to-day aspects of the projects, including communication with stakeholders, drafting reports, and budget reviews. Assistance with data collection and analysis will be required.
Duties
- Monitor, maintain, and update project timelines and deliverables, ensuring targets are achieved.
- Understand and maintain study protocols.
- Maintain a small budget, monitoring and submitting financial reports.
- Attend training sessions, team meetings, and AGMs in Edmonton.
- Develop project materials including documents and questionnaires.
- Collect data timely and ensure quality control procedures.
- Troubleshoot and escalate issues as needed.
- Assist with recruitment, data collection, and data management.
- Work with the TREC team to develop and deliver multi-media feedback.
- Complete reports for funders and stakeholders.
- Support presentations and arrangements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in health or social sciences; a graduate degree in a related field is required.
- 3-5 years of project coordination experience in health research settings.
- Experience in a health setting, preferably in continuing care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interact constructively with the public and health professionals.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a residential long-term care setting is an asset.
