We currently have an opportunity for an Unscheduled Part-Time MDRD Technician in the Medical Device Reprocessing Department.
How MDRD Technician support our teams at Grand River Hospital:
The successful candidate will work as a part of a team to reprocess sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. This includes but not limited to Surgical Instruments, Endoscopes, Ultrasound Probes and floor trays. The MDRD Technician will decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble and package products for sterilization, as well as requisite recording and control supplies. MDR Technicians are responsible for accurate documentation of all sterilization and adherence to the CSA Z314 Standards. The incumbent will fill supply requisitions as required as well as other duties as assigned. Technicians contribute to ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors through a focus on quality, accuracy and efficiency.
At Grand River Hospital, the MDRD Technician:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Medical Device Reprocessing certification (MDRAO or College) is mandatory
- Minimum one-year recent experience in Medical Device Reprocessing
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
- Medium demand lifting is required
- Must be able to read and write English
- Good attendance record
