Position Overview:
The Talent Operations Lead is responsible for the ongoing progressive improvement of talent acquisition and management processes and practices adopted throughout the organization. This role leads and supports a variety of Talent related projects across North America, facilitating development in areas relating to recruitment, new hire onboarding experience, ATS/WDR Strategic Management, Talent team training and employee departure experience – in partnership with relevant departmental stakeholders throughout GFL.

Position Overview:
The Talent Operations Lead is responsible for the ongoing progressive improvement of talent acquisition and management processes and practices adopted throughout the organization. This role leads and supports a variety of Talent related projects across North America, facilitating development in areas relating to recruitment, new hire onboarding experience, ATS/WDR Strategic Management, Talent team training and employee departure experience – in partnership with relevant departmental stakeholders throughout GFL.
Key Responsibilities:
- ATS Strategy (Workday Recruiting): Central point of contact for the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), work with the HCM and Workday team to continue building recruitment modules, manage ATS, Background Checks and other operational relationships that integrate with the ATS
- Training: Train the TA team and other organizational stakeholders on new tolls, resources and processes to ensure their success. Create and facilitate “Train the Trainer” Program in collaboration with the Learning and Development Manager to adequately train and provide resources for our Talent Team and hiring managers
- Acquisitions and New Talent Acquisition Partner Onboarding: Leads the acclimation of acquisition recruitment departments to GFL with the support of the Director of Talent. Create and delivers new Talent Acquisition Partner welcome and onboarding programs
- Onboarding and Offboarding: Work with the Learning and Development team to support the build and execution of the organizational Corporate Onboarding Program; supporting new corporate hires upon entry to GFL. Build and execute Employee Offboarding Program, facilitating appropriate communication upon employee termination or resignation providing the company with data and feedback for continuous improvement
- Project Management: Lead and contribute to project teams through the planning, design, operational optimization, change management and communication of scalable recruitment programs
- 4+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, including experience leading, building and refining TA practice
- University degree or College diploma in HR, Business Administration or related field of study
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end recruiting lifecycle, hiring processes and how to best optimize for efficiency and quality for improved internal and external stakeholder experience
- Prior experience working on projects in cross-functional teams
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with external and internal teams
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and projects under pressure and within respective deadlines
- Highly adaptable with demonstrated experience building relationships across all levels of an organization
- Strong moral and ethical judgement in decision making, respecting people first with political and cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to think strategically and proactively, with the capability to present findings to leadership teams
- Strong computer literacy, including working skills of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must be willing/able to travel between Canada & US
