Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for the Beverage Specialist is to increase distribution and consumer awareness of Tree of Life Beverages with a focus on Fever Tree products through Head Office initiatives. This role will be responsible for increasing sales in Food Service and at retail. There will be an emphasis on connecting the vendor/supplier/brand team with Tree of Life sales force and brokers. Initiatives will incorporate Brand-specific marketing plans as well as Account-specific promotional activities with an emphasis on profitability and supply chain. The individual will act as a conduit between account and Head Office, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales Management. Main accountability is measured in profitable sales achievement, expense control and product distribution. Essential Functions

  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).
  • Act as the ambassador for all beverage products, both internally and externally for Tree of Life. Promote and sell our beverage brands across on-premise (Food Service), and other channels.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market reach and increase sales volume.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Proactively prospect and engage potential clients through networking events, trade shows, and targeted outreach campaigns.
  • Develop customized sales pitches and proposals to showcase the value proposition of our premium mixer products and secure new accounts.
  • Implement key account strategies and plans to achieve budgeted net sales and spending targets.
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with key trade personnel.
  • Present existing opportunities and new products promptly.
  • Provide timely updates on business needs and opportunities to key sales and marketing personnel.
  • Present customer development business reviews to relevant key trade contacts.
  • Collaborate closely with the Vendor, Broker Sales Network, Marketing, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Care, and Warehouse associates.
  • Maintain good attendance, adhere to safe work practices, and ensure the confidentiality of company information.
  • Assist at customer trade shows, which may include set up, tear down, and participation in the event.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • 5 to 10 years of selling experience in an On-Premise Key Account or National Sales role within the Beverage Alcohol or CPG Beverage sector.
  • Established key relationships across the On-Premise Channel in Canada, particularly within the Hotel & Resort, Premium Casual Dining, Fine Dining, Bars and Recreational sectors (such as Golf Courses and Stadiums).
  • Knowledgeable about the Canadian bartending community, with strong networking skills to effectively influence that community.
  • Maintains good relationships with spirit brands to facilitate collaboration and partnerships within the On-Premise channel.
  • Deep understanding of the critical levers and tools necessary to achieve distribution, volume, and brand visibility KPIs in the On-Premise space.
  • Ability to create and nurture strong relationships with both internal and external customers, including a complex distributor network and our brand/supplier partners.
  • Familiarity with the Broadline Distribution network, including GFS and Sysco, and the ability to collaborate closely with these partners.
  • Willingness to teach, coach, and influence others at all levels of the organization to achieve business goals.
  • Willing to travel nationally, collaborating with sales representatives and attending customer meetings, as well as brand or company events.
  • An enthusiastic go-getter with a positive, entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine passion for great drinks. Possesses the ability to energize and influence others with charm while remaining humble and ready to tackle any challenge.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Strong presentation skills, capable of speaking effectively before groups of employees, management, and key trade accounts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities, allowing for effective collaboration with diverse personalities and the development of strong business relationships. High energy, tactful, mature, and adaptable, with sound reasoning and judgment.
  • Demonstrates superior organizational and multitasking skills, alongside strong negotiation and analytical abilities, with a comprehensive understanding of the On-Premise Beverage industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
