THE ROLE

Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months managing the very important retail warehouse for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations. As a deployed Warehouse Manager, you enhance the overall morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.

The Warehouse Manager is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based, land-based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among our CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player in a fast-paced setting. You adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing dynamic environment.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the warehouse, including developing business opportunities with local vendors and the internal CFMWS retail resources, receiving and verifying delivery of merchandise, maintaining inventory records, producing accountability reports, preparing deposits, and supervising warehouse staff.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

  • College diploma or certificate in Business Management or a related field
  • Canadian citizenship
  • Must have a valid Canadian passport
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class G or Class 5)

Experience

  • In management in a retail environment
  • In delivering training to employees
  • In warehouse/logistics management
  • In using point of sale systems and generating/analyzing reports

Competencies

  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork, and leadership

Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment

  • Completion of a health, dental, and psychosocial assessment
  • Security screening
  • Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
  • Ability to walk and lift, carry, pull/push heavy items

JOB INFORMATION

Position Type

Civilian deployment contracts are 6 month terms. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Salary: $53,000-$59,620 for six months
  • Hours of work: Maximum 56 hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends
  • Tax free allowance: Possibility of up to $1,716 per month in addition to your salary (Allowance rates are based on mission/location/date)
  • Home Leave Travel Allowance (Vacation): Possibility of paid leave (vacation)
  • Accommodations and meals: Provided for duration of deployment
  • Health Benefits: Drug coverage, travel insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment coverage
  • Excursions: Possibility to explore and experience the local culture and environment through activities like excursions off base

LOCATION: Camp Adazi, Latvia
