Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company, located in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Full-time Warehouse Material Handler. The Warehouse Material Handler works in our Lubricants Centre reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor. As a Temporary Warehouse Material Handler, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks of finished packaged product in a safe and efficient manner.

Job Duties

  • Operate a forklift to load and unload finished packaged products from trucks
  • Confirm products picked for shipping
  • Operate semi-automatic stretch wrappers
  • Create load plans to ensure trailers are loaded in a secure and balanced manner
  • Perform all job tasks as documented in the department's standard operating procedures
  • Maintain effective communications with other production team members
  • Participate in behavioral-based safety programs
  • Maintain training to keep skills and qualifications current
  • Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Fork-lift experience is strongly preferred but not required
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Demonstrated safety focus, with an ability to understand and follow all safety and operational procedures and policies
  • Team player who also has the ability to work individually, managing multiple demands and competing priorities
  • Proactive problem-solver, but exercises quick and decisive action when issues arise
  • Mechanical aptitude and a proactive work ethic
  • Collaborative with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required

Required Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Computer literacy, including experience using SAP is an asset
  • Demonstrated safety focus, with an ability to understand and follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures and policies
  • You have strong judgment when resolving problems
  • You anticipate problems and take initiative to preventative measures
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most

Work Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive meaning a pre-placement medical, alcohol and drug test as well as background checks and physical skills assessment must be cleared prior to a start date
  • This is a temporary full-time, unionized position for approximately one year however, will be based on business requirements

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50 lbs, intermediate level of reading and writing, performing intermediate math calculations, effectively communicating with others, valid provincial driver’s license, perceiving color differences, wearing personal protective equipment
