Brain Injury Rehabilitation Support Worker

The opportunity

We are currently looking to fill one part time position – approximately 25 hours – as a Brain Injury Rehabilitation Support Worker in Peterborough, Ontario. This role is an outreach position and will require a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.

Starting wage is $23.06 with annual increases.

Responsibilities

• Current position is only weekday daytime shifts
• Reporting responsibilities (incident reports, behavioral data collection and verbal reports)
• Participate in any required training
• Follow policies and procedures as required
• Provide one to one support within the home and community to adults with a Brain Injury with activities of daily living, community engagement, and rehabilitation planning.
• Communicate with client, family, and team members.
• Perform duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains client and staff health and safety.

Qualifications and experience

• Post-Secondary preferred or experience in Social Services
• Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Sound behavioral management skills and problem-solving skills
• Proven teamwork abilities
• Working knowledge of disabilities
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
