We are in search of a multi-talented, Technical Content Writer to join our product management team who is comfortable collaborating with diverse teams to support the production of product documentation and end-user training material, marketing materials, and technical content. Reporting to our Director, Product Management the ideal candidate will have expertise in creating detailed product documentation (software and hardware), a strong ability to produce technical documentation, including release notes, visual content, including diagrams; and have experience managing content in a Learning Management System (LMS). This role involves documenting complex software and hardware products while visually enhancing content where needed for a range of technical and non-technical audiences. The Technical Content Writer will work closely with the Product Managers to develop e-learning content, ensuring clarity and usability, while remaining in a back-office capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Documentation: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides, installation guides, product manuals, online help, technical white papers, FAQs, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
  • Visual Content Development: Design high-quality graphics such as diagrams and flowcharts that clarify complex software and hardware features and processes. Create visual aids for technical concepts tailored to various audiences including end-users, system administrators, and engineers.
  • Learning Management Software (LMS): Upload, organize, and maintain training materials within the company's LMS. Ensure courses and materials are structured effectively for different user levels (e.g., beginner, advanced). Assist in developing e-learning modules, quizzes, and assessments, in collaboration with the Product Manager.
  • Content Planning & Collaboration: Work with marketing, product managers, software developers, UX/UI designers, QA specialists, and customer support teams to gather information and understand product functionality. Translate this knowledge into written and visual content that is technically accurate and user-friendly, including case studies.
  • Review & Editing: Review and edit documentation written by colleagues or cross-functional team members. Ensure consistency, clarity, completeness, and adherence to brand guidelines, while maintaining high standards for technical accuracy.
  • Version Control & Content Updates: Manage version control of all documents and ensure updates are performed as necessary to keep content aligned with product enhancements or new releases.
  • Technical Customer Communications: Assist in producing clear technical communication materials (release notes, FAQs, product updates) that help customers navigate new product features, bug fixes, and system changes.
  • Content Metrics & Feedback: Analyze the effectiveness of technical and training content through user feedback and performance metrics. Optimize content for usability, ensuring end-users can easily find, understand, and apply the information.

What You Bring…

  • Technical Writing Expertise: Strong background in producing a wide range of technical documents, with the ability to translate complex software features into easy-to-understand language.
  • Visual Design Skills: Adept in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Visio). Ability to create visual assets like diagrams.
  • LMS Management: Experience with managing and structuring content within an LMS or similar. Ability to create e-learning modules and manage training materials for diverse audiences.
  • Gen AI Tools: Experience with Generative AI tools (GPT, image and video generation) is a strong plus.
  • Doc Automation Tools: Familiarity with documentation automation tools such as those used in Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, product management, QA, customer support, and marketing teams.
  • Content Organization: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple documentation projects, maintain content libraries, and ensure timely updates.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Editing and Review: Excellent editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail. Capable of reviewing content for completeness, clarity, and technical accuracy.
  • Tools Proficiency: Expertise in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with creating interactive e-learning content.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for creating web-based documentation.
  • Experience with Agile software development environments.
