Job Description

What is the role?

The Supply Chain Analyst has primary responsibility for on-demand analytics (including data mining), providing business recommendations (and support), and leading cross-functional projects. They lead to scope problems/opportunities, develop potential solutions and reach consensus on the path forward. Projects range from inventory optimization, to cost savings, to process improvement, to supplier management to field execution.

What will you do?

Technology Lead

  • Evaluate future needs as it pertains to application, hardware, communication, professional services, and maintenance.
  • Develop a technology strategy based on the findings of future needs, best practices and available technology to modernize use of technology in order to improve service and work more efficiently.
  • Provide professional expertise and advice as it pertains to technology.

Data Analytics

  • In collaboration with stakeholders, take lead role to implement data analytics supported by reports and dashboards are required.
  • Create processes and methods to gather supply chain data
  • Run detailed spreadsheets in EXCEL
  • Understand implications of network models
  • Understand use of optimization tools
  • Performs root cause analysis of exceptions in reporting/analysis and develops/implements corrective actions and communicates resolutions to all relevant stakeholders
  • Tell a story with data to their stakeholders; express ideas clearly, concisely in understandable form, both orally and in writing

Supply Chain Optimization

  • Develop requirements and standards (e.g. picking, replenishment, returns, etc.)
  • Oversee inventory procedures
  • Evaluate vendor operations (e.g. freight forwarders) according to quality standards
  • Track KPIs and report on supply chain’s performance. Define action require when results are off target.
  • Help foster trusting relationships with business partners
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to implement effective systems

What will you need to succeed?

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Mathematics or a related field
  • 1 - 3 years of working experience
  • Experience in data mining, analysis and reporting
  • Experience with supply chain processes (e.g., inventory planning, warehouse management)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, relational databases and ERP systems (e.g. NAV)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good understanding of supply chain fundamentals and the ability to embed best practices into the daily operations
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills, business acumen and insight; with the ability to understand and synthesize data from various sources, work around data limitations, and form impactful judgments and insights
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Polished written and verbal communication
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize workload and communicate up timing and challenges
  • Desire to roll up your sleeves - dis-aggregate complex problems and simplify into executable solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
