Job Overview
South Vancouver Neighbourhood House (SVNH) is seeking an experienced, creative and dedicated
School Age Care Team Lead for the 44 space school age care program located on school grounds.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the leadership and supervision of the program.
- Lead the staff team to plan, evaluate, and implement daily activities in line with SVNH philosophy
- Work in partnership and with the Coordinator and Director to explore and implement innovative
- Builds and maintains supportive and collaborative relationships with families, community partners
- Adapt to changing circumstances, handle emergencies skilfully using discretion and confidentiality
- Ensure best practices, licensing requirements and SVNH policies and procedures are met for the
program
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid BC ECE license to practice, First Aid and Food Safe
- Valid Special Needs ECE license to practice an asset
- Clear Criminal Record Check upon hire
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a licensed childcare in a leadership role
- Knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and BC Childcare Licensing Regulations
- Able to provide reflective and emergent curriculum
- Strong team building and written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoys working in an inclusive and diverse community
- Second language in Tagalog, Punjabi, Hindi, Vietnamese, Mandarin or Cantonese an asset
- Passion for professional development and growth
Employment Terms
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 35hr/wk
- Program Hours: Regular school days are 7:30am to 9:30am and 2:30 -6pm & school closures for
- Type: Regular Full Time
- Wage: $25.42-$27.23 depending on experience, skills and qualifications. Plus $6 Wage
