What You’ll Be Doing

The goal of CIBC’s Capital Markets business is to be the premier client-focused Capital Markets based in Canada. To deliver on this, the capital markets arm of CIBC provides a wide range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, merchant banking and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate and retail clients in Canada and in key markets around the world.

The role of Co-op, Business Architecture is to support Capital Markets with their strategic initiatives by managing various projects simultaneously.

The team help bridge the gap between capital markets products and processes, facilitating evolution in support of our growing Capital Markets businesses, ensuring that we can implement front to back solutions in the most optimal and expedite manner, ultimately supporting revenue growth, product expansion, and cost control. Specifically working with capital markets downstream teams to deliver technology and process solutions against their core requirements and not just their current process.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Project management - Contribute to all project lifecycle activities associated with delivering projects, that are driven by re-engineering and simplification of Front to Back processes for Capital Markets products.
  • Collaboration - Working with Front, Middle and Back Office stakeholders to identify opportunities to re-engineer, integrate and simplify Front Office to Back Office systems and processes.
  • Relationship management - Acting as an interface between the capital markets business and application owners, Risk Management, Finance, Operations and Technology, providing vital change management support as we implement new processes and technology.
  • Time management - Act on ad-hoc requests/projects as required in a timely manner.
  • Project coordination - Support LOB on CIBC-wide project implementation, including the development of policy / procedures, development of project plans, business requirements, executive presentation and training materials.

Who You Are

  • You have the technical knowledge. You have proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Experience in Agile Methodology or SCRUM qualifications useful.

  • You are a strong communicator. You have strong communication skills as required when dealing with the back office, investigations officers, traders, marketers and middle office with regards to trade bookings and amendments.
