Title: Nurse in Charge
Salary: $94,983 - $119,239 (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time - 37.5 Hours per week, we offer 2,3,and 4 week rotations
Location: Tsay Key Dene Nursing Station
Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)
What We Offer
As the Nurse in Charge, you will provide leadership on a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services within a First Nations community to individuals, and family groups. You will provide professional guidance and assistance to community leaders and other community health care team members in acquiring knowledge and skill. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. You will focus on promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting population health, as well as a focus on curative, urgent and emergent care, rehabilitation, and supportive or palliative care.

- Recruitment Allowance: Up to $16,500
- Education Allowance: Up to $3,850
- Health Spending Account: $1,100
- Nurse in Charge (NIC) Allowance: Up to $6,000 per year for Community Health Nurses (CHN Level 4)
- Weather-Protective Clothing Allowance: Reimbursement up to $1,200

About You
To be successful in this role you will have / be:
- A bachelor's degree in nursing
- Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
- Must be Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM
- Successful completion of approved training in public health nursing or approved training in obstetrics, mental health, or some other specialty
- Valid Class 5 Driver's license
- An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
- Knowledge of nursing processes
- Experience in primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, medical / surgical, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care
