Rotating Equipment Mechanic

Ovintiv’s Canadian Operating Area (COA) has an opportunity for an experienced Rotating Equipment Mechanic or Millwright to join our team. This role is crucial for the maintenance, equipment optimization, and start-up and commissioning of equipment in the Grande Prairie area. The regular work schedule for this role is 8 days on and 6 days off. The successful candidate will also be required to provide on-call and back-up support as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of Mechanical Equipment: The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of various mechanical equipment, including:

• Caterpillar 3600 series engines
• Waukesha engines
• Various gas compressors
• Various liquid pumps
• Air compressors
• Power generation equipment
• Other site mechanical equipment such as UTVs and Skid Steers

• Documentation: Maintain proper documentation of services, overhauls, preventative work and repair records as required.
• Utilize Maximo/CMMS: Ensure that work orders and preventive maintenance reports (PMs) are up to date using the Maximo/CMMS system.
• On-Call Duties: Share in the on-call responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance team.
• Safety Responsibilities: Understand and perform safety responsibilities, including hazard identification and emergency response.
• Procedure Improvement: Utilize, improve and author procedures for work practices.
• Housekeeping Standards: Maintain superior housekeeping standards throughout the plant and associated areas as required.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with operations, maintenance and management staff.
• Performance Improvement: Ensure ongoing performance improvement through job progression, site-specific training and process training.
• Opportunity Assessment: Identify and assess opportunities to improve safety, reliability and maintenance costs.

Qualifications:

• Five or more years of related experience.
• Must possess interprovincial Mechanic/Millwright trades certification.
• Caterpillar 3600 with A3/A4 Series Engine maintenance experience would be considered an asset.
• Repair and troubleshooting of centrifugal and reciprocating pumps would be considered an asset.
• Must have knowledge and relevant maintenance experience in sour and sweet gas compression and processing facilities.
• Mechanical maintenance experience in sour and sweet gas compression and processing are desired.
• High Safety Standards.
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills are required.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in use and application of PCs and PC programs including Microsoft Office.
• This is a safety-sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Ovintiv Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment and random testing.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
