SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Leader, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment provides guidance and support for the safe operations of the Corporation’s natural gas facilities. This position leads the proactive application of Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Management of Change to comply with legislation and regulations, integrating with company initiatives through collaboration with stakeholders and delivering guidance to senior management and external parties.

Position Details

  • Non-union - This position is permanent full time.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain the corporate hazard inventory, providing regular updates and review.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Management of Change.
  • Review applicable legislation and regulations to determine application and impact to internal policy, processes and procedures, including development of recommendations to address changes.
  • Prepare information and respond to regulators, management and executive, including detailed analysis, interpretation of information, and trend analysis.
  • Lead the corporate management of change process, which includes providing structure for changes and monitoring compliance on an enterprise-wide level.
  • Provide a high degree of hands-on support to corporate project teams and executive sponsors in the design, delivery, oversight, and reporting related to management of change strategies and plan deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver corporate training and workshops specific to Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Management of Change.
  • Review program delivery for efficiency and effectiveness documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or Commerce.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in developing and leading complex enterprise-wide projects or initiatives.
  • Knowledge of project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build relationships, influence, and negotiate with senior executives.
  • Ability to create and deliver strategies and plans to help the organization maximize the adoption of new programs using methods for effective and sustained behavior change.
  • A strong technical understanding of analytical tools and techniques and natural gas systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively using excellent communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.

Additional Information

  • Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required.
  • A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
  • The job is safety sensitive, and as such, is subject to the provisions of the Drug and Alcohol Policy (Pre-Employment or Pre-Placement for Safety Sensitive Positions).
