Major Responsibilities:

  • Under direction and guidance of IPP staff and management, assists and supports business units within the division with basic clerical work.
  • Assists staff with data entry and the coordination of data requests.
  • Assists staff with the basic review/screening of Planning Act, EA legislation, Ontario Regulation permit applications and general inquiries.
  • Assists in drafting correspondence, presentations, and reports, while making recommendations for operations/program improvements.
  • Assists staff and management with minor studies, basic projects, basic reports, and minor applications.
  • Assists Planners with basic follow-up with proponents as required.
  • Under the direction and guidance of IPP staff and management, organizes site meetings and assists or shadows staff on these site visits.

What will you need to succeed:

Education

  • Recently completed a post-secondary program in Planning, Resource Management, Urban Geography, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering.
  • Valid Ontario Class G2 driver’s license.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability – Competencies

  • Ability to work professionally with others.
  • Ability to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines.
  • Ability to write clear correspondence.
  • Sound time management and organization skills.
  • Team player with experience working in a group environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint.
