Position Overview

CenerTech Canada Ltd. is seeking a Journeyman Ticket Millwright with oilsands Maintenance, Projects experience to join the team to support the Fort McMurray region. In this role, the successful candidate will be accountable for maintaining the highest level of professional risk management, identifying, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment and driving safety culture. We are a team of dedicated professionals who take pride in the work we do, the exceptional customers we serve. This position is in the Fort McMurray, AB area on a client site and it is a 14/14 rotation with travel, LOA and camp provided. Hourly base rate is $51.00

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • This role will encompass the identification of any breakdowns and the repair of pumps, compressors, conveyor systems and mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings.
  • Repair, fabrication and installation of equipment.
  • Support operating objectives.
  • Maintain and refine maintenance reliability and integrity programs.
  • Steward the review, modification, development, and implementation of detailed job plans. Together with maintenance planning personnel, these would include information such as task lists, labor resources (craft and skill type), tool requirements, material requirements, safety and hazardous material requirements, pre-job activities, a detailed task description, and post maintenance activities.
  • Repair and troubleshooting of all rotating and stationary equipment.
  • Support plant turnaround planning and execution.
  • Oversee and ensure that any contractors assigned to your responsibility meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Demonstrate the highest commitment to health, safety, environment and social responsibility (HSE&SR) to help us grow the value of our business responsibly.
  • Completion of assigned work orders in a timely and productive manner
  • Optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability, participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules.
  • Ensure that work area is always clean of debris and hazards and check work area for such hazards upon arrival and when departing each area of work
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards. Must follow plant Permitting, lock-out procedures during repair or servicing.
  • Uphold and demonstrate CNOOC’s Life Saving Rules and Stop Work Authority
  • Uphold and demonstrate CNOOC’s Code of Practices
  • Continuously strive to find new ways to reduce costs, reduce duration, increase equipment reliability, and improve HSE performance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Education & Experience

  • Certificate as a Red Seal/Interprovincial Journeyman Millwright.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in /or operations, oil refinery or similar hydrocarbon industry.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a maintenance function.
  • Demonstrated experienced in hands-on support of operations, technical and maintenance work teams including experience with rotating and stationary equipment, preventative and predictive maintenance systems and RPS/RCM maintenance trouble shooting techniques.
  • Strong PC skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral.
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner and build relationships based on collaboration, honesty and respect.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain flexibility in completing tasks in an ever-changing workplace.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative to understand problems and collaborate with colleagues to drive to solution.
