Landscape Labourer

Job Description

Position Overview:

A Landscape Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to assist in the design, construction, and maintenance of outdoor spaces, including gardens, parks, residential yards, and commercial properties. The role involves manual labor, operating equipment, and working in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance:
• Prepare and maintain landscapes by planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, and fertilizing.
• Mow, trim, and edge lawns using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Install sod, seeds, and plants to create attractive outdoor spaces.
• Construction and Installation:
• Assist in building retaining walls, patios, walkways, and other hardscape features.
• Install irrigation systems and ensure proper functioning.
• Lay paving stones and assist with grading and leveling soil.
• Use of Tools and Equipment:
• Operate landscaping tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and blowers.
• Safely use heavy equipment like skid steers, backhoes, and excavators when required.
• Perform regular maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Site Preparation and Cleanup:
• Remove debris, rocks, and other materials from work sites.
• Load, unload, and transport supplies and equipment to job sites.
• Ensure the site is clean and safe during and after work.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
• Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and plant care.
• Ability to operate and maintain landscaping tools and machinery.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or construction.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, hardscaping, or plant identification.
• Valid driver’s license or access to reliable transportation.
  
  

Work Environment

• Primarily outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
• May involve heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long hours.
  
  

Salary Range

• Competitive hourly wage, depending on experience and location.

Driver's License - AZ, Driver's License - AR, Driver's License - G2, Driver's License - G, Clean Driving Record, Primary access to a vehicle, Skid Steer, WHMIS, First AID

Compensation

$22 to $28/hour
