About The Role


As a CBRE Building Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for proving support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do

• Performs daily rounds and log readings
• Completes preventative/demand maintenance tasks and input histories into Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as needed; report required changes to supervisor
• Ensures maximum energy efficiency, inspects/operates/maintains and repairs mechanical/electrical systems and equipment (including HVAC equipment, pumps, etc.)
• Performs repairs such as: replace washers/faucets, clear sinks, toilets and drains, replace pumps, reset breakers, repair pipe systems, etc.
• Maintains fan/air handling units which may include greasing of bearings, replacement of filters, belt inspections and replacements
• Conducts water treatment tests
• Escalates unusual events, occurrences or unsafe conditions to supervisor
• Responds to tenant requests and emergencies
• Participates in reviewing of operating standards, policies/procedures as required
• Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable codes
• Oversees work of contractors/external service providers to ensure adherence to contract specifics and company/industry standards
• Participates in meetings as required
• Perform general building maintenance/repairs (i.e., painting, drywall, tiling)
• Assist other classifications/trades as required
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance and operations
• Demonstrated capabilities re: accountability, judgement, decision-making, problem solving, etc.;
• Proven ability to effectively interact with clients, tenants, management and staff;
• Willingness to work in various shifts (morning and afternoon), and to be available on-call;
• 4th or 5th class Operating Engineer; or provincial trades certification of qualification is an asset

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range being offered for the Building Operator position is between $60,000 annually and $70,000 annually. The compensation that is provided to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
