Job Summary:

Act as a key resource for line improvements and automation, focusing on the realignment of product flow equipment and machinery in collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with manufacturing engineers, project engineers, and program managers to reduce costs and remove non-value added material from production lines
  • Collaborate with program managers and project engineers at the APQP stage of a program start-up
  • Troubleshoot process automation problems
  • Resolve non-value added processes after PPAP approval
  • Engage in design stages for start-up and current production projects
  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Manage PLC program database and conduct regular backups
  • Test and tune units to specifications
  • Analyze mechanical defects and validate results with maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure proper machine operation
  • Ensure proper communication of troubleshooting or downtime to other shifts

Academic/Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of Electrical Engineering, Robotics and Automation, or related technology diploma, or a degree in Electrical Engineering is an asset

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Highly motivated and able to work in a team environment
  • PLC programming experience, especially with Allen Bradley
  • Robot programming and integration knowledge, especially with ABB
  • Understanding of electrical/electronic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking and TCP/IP protocol

Working Conditions:

40 hours per week in a production/manufacturing environment. Monday to Friday, with mandatory Saturdays as required.
