Available Position:
The Strategic Initiatives and External Relations Division is seeking a motivated and talented individual for the role of Technology Policy Analyst Student in the Technology Policy Department.

What you can expect in this role:
In this role, you will work under the direction of the Technology Policy department to support the delivery of projects. Activities may include:
Cybersecurity Policy Work
- Assessing the laws and regulations that governments have passed to strengthen government and private sector cybersecurity protections, potentially resulting in a report with recommendations concerning the Ontario government’s cybersecurity regulations and policies.
Cybersecurity Technical Research
- Delivering a report on tools used in penetration testing, covering phases like information gathering, reconnaissance, and vulnerability assessments.
Emerging Threats Research
- Creating a brief or presentation on recent cybersecurity trends and threats, along with activities for encouraging organizational protection against cyber threats.
Artificial Intelligence Policy Work
- Monitoring key AI events and producing a summary of emerging areas for IPC focus.
Identity Management Policy Work
- Summarizing research and technical privacy concerns associated with digital identification systems.
Emerging Technology Policy Work
- Researching future technologies and recommending regulatory preparations.
Your work may additionally include tasks like conducting research, supporting document development, organizing files, and scheduling activities for the Policy Department.
How do I qualify?
- At least third-year of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, political science, sociology, criminology).
- Courses or papers related to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or a related topic.
- Interest in access, privacy, and security issues concerning technology.
- Strong research, analytical, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
