About Our Opportunity
The Executive Assistant to the Public Trustee is accountable to provide senior level legal assistance and administrative support to the Public Trustee as well as ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Office of the Public Trustee. Under minimal direction, this position is responsible for all work involved in the administration and proper management of the Public Trustee's files - legal, financial, human resources, office administration, confidential correspondence with Ministers and Deputy Ministers and cross-departmental committee work. The Executive Assistant maintains up-to-date knowledge of government practices and policies, coordinates and maintains office enquiries, correspondence and requests; as well as liaises with staff, other government departments and external agencies.
Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12 plus five years of relevant legal secretarial experience OR Grade 12, a one-year accredited Legal Secretarial Diploma plus 3 years of experience in a senior administrative setting, preferably within government. Must have a high degree of professionalism, tact, diplomacy and a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity to the needs and requirements of senior officials, various government departments, management, staff and the general public. During the interview, applicants may be asked to demonstrate the following competencies: Analytical Thinking, Adaptability & Flexibility, Attention to Detail, Client Orientation, Effective Interactive Communication, Initiative, and Intercultural & Diversity Proficiency. We will assess the qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks. Offer of employment is conditional upon the completion of all applicable background checks and confirmation of credentials, the results of which must be satisfactory to the employer or will result in termination of your employment.

Working Conditions
- Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.

Pay Grade: EC 05
Salary Range: $1,940.61 - $2,425.76 Bi-Weekly
