About the Opportunity
The Renal Transplant Associate Physician is a licensed physician employed by the Nova Scotia Health Authority, providing clinical care under supervision. Assigned to the Renal Transplant Program, this position involves participation in call schedules as required.
Clinical Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Associate Physician Program Director:
- Functions as a member of the Nephrology/Renal Transplant Service team.
- Manages day-to-day inpatient care, including admissions for urgent procedures.
- Liaises with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Collaborates with and orientates rotating residents and fellows.
- Communicates with patients and families regarding management plans.
- Completes standing orders, daily assessments, and maintains documentation.
- Performs procedures within the scope of competence and established protocols.
- Arranges consultations and follow-ups.
- Attends outpatient clinics and participates in weekly meetings.
About You
- Must obtain a Clinical Assistant License from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
- Review of Qualifications from The College required prior to application deadline.
- Must have CMPA coverage and ACLS certification.
- Good command of English and strong interpersonal skills.
- Completion of a rotating internship and experience in Family Medicine are assets.
- Physical and mental demands include dealing with stressful situations.
- Competencies in other languages are an asset; French preferred.
Hours
- Permanent, Full-Time Position, 96 hrs bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives
$49.91 - $63.57 Hourly
Eligible for benefits including health, dental, and a pension plan.
