Fire Alarm Technician

Chandler – Alarm and Communications is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician who is responsible for installation projects, inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, assembly, programming set-up, and verification of new fire alarm systems
• Inspection, service, and troubleshooting of existing fire alarm systems
• Working knowledge of CAN/ULC standards S524, S536, and S537
• CFAA certification would be an asset but not necessary
• Capable of preparing thorough reports and inspection documentation
• Experience in programming fire panels
• Knowledge of various fire systems
• Use of specialized test tools
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and lifts, in attics and crawl spaces, as well as lifting 50+ lbs
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Self-motivated with a strong focus on excellent customer service
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with Special Hazards Suppression System would be an asset

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in fire alarm installations
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Graduation from a recognized Electronics Program is considered an asset
• Relevant industry experience is considered an asset
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends, holidays, and emergency situations
• Working at heights and with ladders
• Ability to travel to other areas of the region when required (not frequent)
• Satisfactory criminal background check
• Must have a clean criminal record, and a valid driver’s license
