The Site Supervisor/Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing subcontractors, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
Job Responsibilities
Subcontractor Management & Coordination
- Select and coordinate activities of trade subcontractors to ensure efficient and quality workmanship.
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements to meet project needs.
- Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates.
- Plan, monitor, and manage budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
- Develop and manage construction schedules, including setting milestones, monitoring progress, and adjusting timelines as necessary.
- Oversee the analysis of project data and information to ensure projects stay on track and meet quality and safety standards.
- Direct the purchase of building materials and manage land acquisitions to meet project specifications and timelines.
- Develop and implement quality control programs to maintain high construction standards and meet regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports on project status, including progress updates, budget tracking, and quality control performance.
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations on the construction site to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with safety regulations.
- 2 to 5 years of experience on construction sites as labor, supervisor, or site supervisor, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in software programs such as Master Builder, Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Chrome, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written communication skills for reports and correspondence with vendors, officials, and clients.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly when addressing customers, clients, or official visitors on-site.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction operations and processes.
- Ability to identify non-compliance issues and provide solutions.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, walking in varying climate conditions, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Flexible to travel between provinces and adjust working hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
