Capital Foodservice (“CFS”) is a Canadian family-owned business in Moncton, New Brunswick. Our Founding partners include Flanagan Foodservice and Calder Group who have been servicing Canadians for over 81 years combined. Our Atlantic Canadian team works throughout the Maritimes to service local businesses.


CFS is seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic, and inspiring leader to lead its food service and retail distribution business. The President will bring their well-rounded, general management skills and proven track record of leadership to scale our industry position in the region.


The President will be responsible for driving the overall performance and culture of the company. This individual will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies that enhance our market position, foster innovation, and ensure sustainable growth.



Key Areas of Focus

  • Responsible for overall leadership and management of all CFS, including sales, operations, finance, logistics, human capital, safety, and overall business governance and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors to formulate and execute a robust and forward-looking strategic roadmap for the organization, delivering accretive value to shareholders.
  • Setting the tone from the top; creating a culture that continues to evolve CFS’s vision and values positively.
  • Bringing the strategic agenda to life, identifying new opportunities for expansion, innovation, and revenue growth, and translating strategies into actionable objectives to further expand CFS’s market share.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and direction to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), including delegating authority, defining accountabilities, setting objectives, evaluating performance, and establishing priorities.
  • Implementing efficient and effective processes to enhance operational excellence and services.
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and industry dynamics through thorough market analysis, identifying key opportunities and challenges to inform strategic initiatives and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and government entities, fostering strong collaborations.
  • Lead change management initiatives, driving organizational transformation and ensuring smooth transitions during periods of growth and strategic shifts.
  • Champion the dissemination of best practices across all functions, promoting continuous improvement and efficiency throughout the organization and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are upheld.



Pivotal Experience & Expertise

  • P&L Leadership – 5+ years of progressive leadership experience to culminate in owning a P&L of a similar scale size as CFS.
  • Industry Relevance – Experience operating and navigating a growing and complex environment. Has a deep understanding of the levers within a service-driven business. Experience working in a family-controlled environment would be an asset.
  • Track Record of Growth – Understands how the current and future business can be leveraged to maximize operating margins and brings a track record of growth through organic and inorganic means.
  • Commercial and Operational Excellence – Expertise in leveraging market research, competitive analysis, customer data, and analytics to develop and execute commercial strategies. Previous experience in a leadership role requiring direct oversight and accountability for food distribution operations is preferred.
  • People Leadership – An empowering, motivational, team-centric leader who drives results through collaboration within a similar-sized organization. Embraces a “customer-first” culture and mindset across a diversified workforce.
