Summary: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and maintaining relationships with existing clients through direct interactions and face-to-face meetings. This role involves identifying sales opportunities, building strong client relationships, presenting products or services, and achieving sales targets.
Essential Duties:
- Identify and prospect new business opportunities within assigned territory by visiting potential customers, understanding their needs, and presenting solutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients by providing excellent service and support
- Present, promote, and sell products or services using solid negotiation skills to existing and prospective customers during face-to-face meetings, calls, and presentations
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets. Tailor solutions to meet customer needs and business goals
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new sales opportunities
- Prepare quotes and negotiate pricing, contract terms, and payment agreements with clients to close sales
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client information, and account management in CRM systems. Provide regular updates and reports to the sales manager
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, customer service, and product teams, to ensure a smooth sales process and customer satisfaction
- Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales quotas by consistently growing the client base and securing new business
- Gather customer feedback and work with the product and service teams to improve offerings and address any issues
- Plan and manage a productive sales schedule, including route planning and client follow-ups, to maximize efficiency
- Other duties assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ of outside sales experience, ideally in the oil and lubricant industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience in B2B sales
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to build rapport and maintain long-term relationships with clients
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
