Manager of Allied Health

The Manager of Allied Health, under the direction of the Senior Clinical Manager, will act as a clinician, consultant, educator and researcher to support the Community Bundled Care programs in the delivery of quality care and services, which is compliant with internal and external professional practice standards. This role will be responsible to support the Integrated Care Solutions division in the Toronto area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a resource and provide guidance to the Divisions and community bundled care programs, operational and clinical staff, as requested, to ensure compliance with all relevant federal and provincial legislated standards or professional practice as well as internal polices.
- Member on Clinical/Quality Response Team (CQRT)
- Demonstrate knowledge of Standard of Practice guidelines of Provincial regulating body.
- Liaise with Provincial regulating body as required.
- Review, research, edit and disseminate Bayshore's policies and procedures, and clinical management system, to ensure accuracy and currency with best practice.
- Lead clinical projects identified by the Area Director
- Work on projects in collaboration with the community bundled care programs, as approved.
- Conduct clinical analysis and research on best practice and clinical issues
- Active leadership role in the design, implementation, adoption and sustainability of integrated digital health systems (e.g. electronic medical records, portals, etc.), for professionals and paraprofessionals, resulting in greater efficiency in the utilization of digital health systems for the delivery of safe, high quality evidence-based care.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
- All duties and responsibilities of this position will be performed with consideration to client safety and well-being.
- Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
- Complete other tasks and duties as requested
Job Qualification
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School or Masters in a health related field is preferred, however, a Masters in progress may be considered if it is in conjunction with other required skills, abilities and experience. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario is required.
Experience:
Solid knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of community nursing; Experience in the development of community based care and client teaching programs; Knowledge of theoretical frameworks and research application.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to meet deadlines; demonstrated track record of high productivity; confidence and sound judgment in dealing with a variety of health care providers, including nurses, managers and staff from other disciplines. Exceptional clinical skills, ability to work collaboratively, assume leadership responsibilities, and communicate effectively. Minimum 30 w.p.m. typing speed required Demonstrates basic clinical analysis and informatics competencies e.g. device, application and information communication technology basic skills. Some travel to branch locations throughout Canada is required and the ability to speak French is an asset but not a must.
