Stream-Flo Industries Ltd. is currently seeking a full-time permanent Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB.

As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our employees, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, and resolving hardware and software issues.

Key Position Functions:

  • Respond to and resolve user requests and issues via phone, email, or in person.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Assist with the setup and deployment of new computers and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on computer systems.
  • Document issues and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Provide support for remote users.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Create both end-user and IT documentation for simple procedures.
  • On a rotating shift basis, provide 24x7 telephone support to local and remote users via On-Call cell phone.
  • May travel to remote office locations to provide on-site support.

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • Diploma from a recognized technical school.
  • Good working knowledge of modern Windows operating systems.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows networking concepts including Active Directory.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or technical support role is an advantage. 1 to 2 years experience is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Work Conditions:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 hour days
  • On a rotating shift basis, provides 24x7 telephone support to local and remote users via On-Call cell phone.
  • Flexible work hours available after 6 months of employment
