Our retail / community environment will provide real world training to enhance academic experience. Interns will learn about the expanding roles of the community pharmacist.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pharmacy and Customer Service
  • Acknowledge all customers approaching the Pharmacy
  • Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management
  • Be clearly identifiable to the public

  • Expose Interns to the practice of pharmacy in a community setting
  • Enhance communication skills with patients, employees, and other healthcare workers
  • Knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling skills
  • Teach skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy
  • Prepare future pharmacists to be successful in a community setting
